School Counsellor - Years 7-9
Commencing Term 1, 2021

School Counsellor - Middle School (Years 7-9), 2 days per week

 

Commencing Term 1 2021 (School Term Time only)

 

We have an excellent opportunity for a School Counsellor to become part of our School community.  This position is commencing Term 1 2021.

To be successful in this role you will have experience working with young people at the secondary level in a school setting, experience in counselling students and working with parents. The position requires current registration with the Australian Psychologist’s Registration Board.

You will:

  • Provide counselling and personal support for Middle School students who are experiencing some form of need, personal difficulty or crisis in accordance with the School’s Christian context
  • Respond to student needs through the provision of short term counselling
  • Assess and if needed, refer students for further investigation by health professionals
  • Provide support for students, parents and staff by enabling them to work together in the interests of the student.

This position requires the successful applicant to have a new Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012, prior to employment at the School.
